1. Public Hearing on New Building and Property Maintenance Codes
When: 5:30 PM, Wednesday, November 5
Where: Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall

The City is strengthening its Building and Property maintenance codes. The building codes will produce stronger and safer structures. The new property maintenance codes are stronger to protect our neighborhoods and citizens’ investments in their homes.

The Urban Development Department will hold a Public Hearing providing a brief overview of the new 2012 International Codes and Life Safety Codes along with a Q & A session. The hearing well be held in the Council Chambers at 5:30 PM, Wednesday, November 5. Please join this discussion.

2. Titanic: The Musical
When: 8 PM, Friday, November 7
8 PM, Saturday, November 8
3 PM, Sunday, November 9
Where: Fine Arts Auditorium, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Jefferson Davis Campus

Daphne and I are excited to join some extremely talented thespians in the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s first production of Titanic: The Musical.

Yep, it’s true. These folks are brave enough to let me get on stage with them. Not only do they let me sing, but they taught me a few moves, too!

3. Dedeaux Road Widening Project Meeting
When: 6-7 PM, Monday, November 10
Where: Orange Grove Community Center, 14416 Dedeaux Road

You’ve been waiting and asking for this meeting, and here it is!

We have reached agreement with the owners of 31 different properties to purchase the needed property for Phase 1 without filing eminent domain. We will hold a public meeting to discuss the progress made on this project and lay out the plan forward.

Representatives from the City’s Legal and Engineering Departments and the engineering firm the City hired to design the project will be on hand to provide status updates and answer questions.
